01 — The difference

A printer that answers, not a checkout that guesses

An online bulk uploader

  • — Price quoted before anyone has looked at your artwork
  • — No proof, or a proof you cannot change
  • — Color "close enough" to your brand guide
  • — Support is a ticket queue in another time zone
  • — Reorder next year does not match this year

Boring Tees

  • — A human reviews your art before quoting it
  • — Digital proof, revised until you approve it
  • — Pantone matched to your actual brand values
  • — 786-302-9144 reaches someone who knows your job
  • — Artwork, inks and garments documented for the reorder
  • — We will point you to the cheaper method, even when it earns us less

02 — Serving yacht and marine crews

Why yacht and marine crews orders look the way they do

Fort Lauderdale calls itself the yachting capital of the world, and the apparel demand backs it up. Charter operators, yacht management companies, marinas, brokerages and the refit yards along the New River all need crew uniforms that hold up to a job that happens outdoors, on the water, in salt air. A shirt that looks sharp in a marina office is a different problem than a shirt that survives a season of deckhand work, and most of what we print for this industry is built for the second case.

Embroidery is the default for yacht crew apparel for a reason. Thread does not fade, crack or peel the way a printed logo does under repeated sun exposure and commercial laundering, and a stitched crest on a polo reads as uniform rather than souvenir when a guest sees it. We also print sun shirts, gear bags and dockside giveaways where the job calls for it — a full-color charter logo on a lightweight performance tee is usually a DTF job, not an embroidery one, and we will tell you which method fits before you commit to either.

Boring Tees is based near College Park, Maryland and ships orders by UPS or USPS to the address you give us, such as a management office or marina. There is no walk-in counter. Send sizes, a logo and the date you need the uniforms so we can confirm the production and shipping schedule before you order.

03 — How it works

Four steps. You do two of them.

Turnaround is measured from proof approval, not from your first email — which means getting final artwork to us early is the single biggest thing you control.

  1. 01

    Tell us what you need

Quantity, garment, artwork and your date. If you do not know which print method fits, say so — recommending one is part of the quote, not an upsell.

  2. 02

    You get a real quote

A written number, broken out so you can see what the garments cost, what the setup costs and what each print location adds. Not a range, and not "starting at."

  3. 03

    Approve the digital proof

We send a proof showing exact placement, dimensions and colors on the garment color you picked. Nothing goes to press until you sign off. The production clock starts here.

  4. 04

It prints and ships to you

Screen printing and embroidery run 10–14 business days, DTF 5–7. A 5-day rush is available for 20% more. Shipping is quoted with the job, not tacked on at the end.

04 — Who we print for

Built for how yacht and marine crews actually order

Charter operators

Crew polos, sun shirts and guest-facing apparel that has to look sharp for a full charter season. Embroidered logos hold their shape and color through weekly washing far better than a printed one does.

Yacht management firms

Uniforms across multiple vessels and crews under one company mark. We keep the stitch file and thread colors on file so a new hire's polo matches the rest of the fleet without re-digitizing.

Marinas & fuel docks

Dockhand and office staff apparel — polos, caps and outerwear that need to read as staff to a boater pulling in. An embroidered left-chest logo is the standard, with a name or title stitched underneath.

Refit & repair yards

Heavier-duty work shirts and embroidered outerwear for technicians and yard crews. Screen printing handles shop tees and shop-wide apparel where a logo needs to be big and the budget needs to stay low.

Yacht brokerages

Embroidered quarter-zips and polos for brokers meeting clients dockside, plus branded gear bags and giveaways for showings. The garment has to look like a firm, not a t-shirt stand.

Boat show exhibitors

Staff and booth apparel for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and similar events. Fixed show dates mean the proof needs to be approved well ahead of setup week, not the week of.

05 — Methods

Three ways to put your logo on a garment

Screen Printing

14" × 17" max imprint · 10–14 business days

Ink pushed through a stencil, one screen per color. Cheapest per piece at volume on one- and two-color designs, and the most durable finish we offer. Setup is charged per color per location.

Embroidery

Digitized once per logo · 10–14 business days

Stitched directly into the garment. The right choice for polos, quarter-zips, caps and anything worn to work — it survives industrial laundering that would crack a print. Cannot render gradients or hairline type.

DTF Printing

13" × 19" max imprint · 5–7 business days

Full-color transfer heat-pressed onto the garment. No per-color setup, so photographs, gradients and complex artwork cost the same as a one-color logo. Usually the cheapest option under 100 pieces.

06 — What drives your price

No per-shirt price list, because it would be a lie

Anyone quoting you a flat per-shirt number before seeing your artwork is guessing, and the guess is usually low. Four things set the price, and we will show you all four broken out on your quote.

Quantity
Setup is a fixed cost spread across the run, so the per-piece price falls sharply as the order grows. Minimum is 24 pieces, mixed across sizes.
Ink colors
Screen printing charges a setup per color per location. DTF charges none — which is why full-color designs often come out cheaper as DTF below about 100 pieces.
Print locations
Front, back and sleeve are three locations, each its own setup and press pass. The same artwork reused at the same size and colors is charged setup once, not three times.
Garment
The blank is often the largest line on the invoice, especially on fleece and outerwear. We will show you two or three options at different price points rather than picking for you.

24 piecesMinimum order, mixed freely across sizes.

+20%5-business-day rush, when the calendar requires it.

$35Art change fee, if the design moves after approval.

07 — Questions

Yacht Crew Uniforms in Fort Lauderdale, answered

Better than a printed logo will. Thread does not crack, peel or fade the way plastisol ink does after repeated sun exposure and washing, which is why embroidery is the standard for polos, uniforms and outerwear that crew members wear on the water day after day. We digitize your logo, run a stitch proof, and flag anything — fine text, a gradient — that will not hold up at working scale before anything goes to production.

We can print and embroider on sun-protective performance shirts from our garment catalog — the UV protection comes from the fabric itself, not from anything we add in decoration. Tell us the use case (deckhand, dock, guest-facing) and we will point you to a garment weight and fit suited to the job rather than just to a photo.

For embroidery we match to the closest available thread color and show it to you on a stitch proof before production. For screen printing we mix to your Pantone (PMS) values if you have them. A logo pulled from a website usually needs converting first, and we will tell you that up front rather than guessing at the color.

Twenty-four pieces per order, mixed freely across sizes. That is reachable for a single vessel's crew or a small dockside office, and the same minimum applies whether you are ordering for one boat or an entire management fleet.

Ten to fourteen business days for embroidery and screen printing, 5 to 7 for DTF, counted from proof approval rather than your first message. A 5-day rush is available for a 20% surcharge if the season or show date is fixed. Tell us the date up front and we will tell you honestly whether it is reachable.

Every order ships by UPS or USPS from our College Park, Maryland area business; we do not offer pickup or staff drop-off. Give us a marina or management office address and your required arrival date so we can quote the shipping timeline before you order.
